Our latest track of the day comes courtesy of London’s scintillating post-punk progressives Legss.’On Killing a Swan Blues’ is the band’s first release since the incredible Writhing Comedy EP last year. The new track sees the release of the band’s first music video, shot and directed by Will Reid and co-directed by Denial.
The band consist of Ned Green (guitars, vocals), Louis Grace (drums, samples), Jake Martin (bass) and Max Oliver (guitars).
The track opens with an aggressive guitar hook but swiftly mellows into a softer verse section, there’s a constant push and pull that really compliments the nature of the lyrics. Legss told us the song documents a decadent world of hysteria, influenced by Gogol and Huysmans.
The band have an incredible talent for interesting and unorthodox transitions between different sections of their music, in many ways comparable to the unhinged, mildly uncomfortable feeling Black Midi manage to encapsulate so beautifully.
The track is the second song of their new EP, out tomorrow the 2nd of October.
